As a result of Dudley and Dave outreach efforts I've ventured forth into unknown territory: 1978 and beyond. I listened to this show yesterday, the show after the famous show, and this is some of what the Compendium reviewer said.

"The second set opens with my favorite China>Rider. From the the jam between the two songs through the many many many bombs in the jam in Rider to Jerry's multiple fan-outs in Rider, this must be heard to be appreciated."

I'm thinking normal, period fast C>R with 3 boners of varying proportions which in typical Dead fashion they redeem with a staggering climax that makes me want to hear more like that. You should listen to this. It will make you laugh and be happy. I wish I was a headlight in my back door indeed.

That show is fast like getting on a cross wired people mover that just won't let you off. Drummers driving china rider down the hill and over. Jerry jumped off just in time

It was a fine and pleasant day

Being a China/Rider enthusiast I like these 3 MSG versions a lot. Each is dramatically different.

'81 slow and easy with a funky Brent intro
'82 quicker but right on
'83 is all about Phil and his new 6 string toy driving the train,
